The transfer window is heating up with Leeds United finally making moves to bring in more creativity and goals to their squad this summer. The Whites are now clearly focused on strengthening their forward line before the start of the new Premier League season.
Leeds have spent £75m to add more depth and quality to their defence and midfield, and Lukas Nmecha has been the only attacking signing this summer, and he arrived on a free transfer earlier in the window. More money is expected to be forked out in the coming weeks on attacking players.
The Whites failed with a £30m move to sign Feyenoord winger Igor Paixao, who snubbed the heavy interest from Elland Road to move to Marseille, who will be playing Champions League football next season.
Leeds have held talks with Leicester midfielder Bilal El Khannouss’ representatives, and are prepared to trigger the £24.5m release clause in his contract if he greenlights a move to Elland Road in the ongoing transfer window.

Juventus’ general manager makes it clear to Leeds United target Timothy Weah about what the club want

Timothy Weah wants to leave Juventus this summer as he is keen to play more football next season, and Leeds United are among the clubs that have their eyes on him.
A move to Marseille is his preference, and the French giants have agreed on personal terms on a contract with the player and his representatives.
However, Juventus have blocked the move as Marseille are yet to make a good enough offer for him, and the Serie A giants are holding out for around £15m.
Weah’s agent slammed Juventus earlier this week to reveal the player’s frustration, but Damien Comolli, the club’s general manager, insisted that the player cannot force the issue.
He conceded that Weah wants to join Marseille, but stressed that he cannot have his preference if the club do not make a suitable offer.
“He wants to go to Marseille, but in football, you can’t choose a team, because if the right offer doesn’t arrive, you’re left out”, Comolli was quoted as saying by Foot Mercato.
“And the offer hasn’t arrived yet.”
A move for Weah seems unlikely for Leeds
Leeds seem to have turned their focus on Leicester City’s Bilal El Khannouss, who has emerged as a top target to strengthen the number 10 position.
The Whites also want a new starting number 9, and there is nothing to suggest Weah can be considered a top target for that role.
Leeds have looked at Weah, but it seems the club are focused on more priority targets, and the striker wants to join Marseille this summer.
A late window could emerge as an option if Leeds want to sign a forward for the squad and Juventus would prefer to sell him to a Premier League club.
