Club want to renegotiate transfer fee for on loan 27-year-old Leeds United defender

Bundesliga outfit Eintracht Frankfurt are keen to renegotiate the option to buy figure in the loan agreement for Leeds United defender Rasmus Kristensen.

Kristensen spent last season on loan at Roma and was never expected to stay at Elland Road in the last summer transfer window.

The defender still has a contract until 2026 and he was again loaned out but this time to the German club, Eintracht Frankfurt, in the last transfer window.

The 27-year-old defender has started the opening four Bundesliga games of this season and has been a big part of the club’s defence in the ongoing campaign.

Despite the weaknesses in his game, Kristensen has gained popularity for the way he organises his defence and is a vocal member of the back four at Eintracht Frankfurt.

Eintracht want the Leeds United defender on a permanent deal but for a lower fee

The Bundesliga club have been left impressed by his performances and are keen to sign him on a permanent deal once his loan stint expires.

Eintracht have an option to make the move permanent for a fee of €13m as per the terms of the loan agreement they agreed upon with Leeds in the summer.

However, according to German outlet Fussball.news, Eintracht are keen to renegotiate the fee and get him for a lesser price.

Given he would only have a year left on his contract at Leeds next summer, Eintracht are not prepared to pay the fee they agreed with Leeds previously.

The German club are ready to sit down at the table with Leeds and renegotiate the fee to sign Kristensen on a permanent deal moving forward.

The Dane joined Leeds from Red Bull Salzburg in 2022 but he joined Roma on loan after the Whites got relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season.

For the moment, it seems unlikely that he will ever play for Leeds before his contract expires in 2026.
