Club’s big call on £20m Leeds United target – Transfer now likely

Leeds United are under pressure to act in the transfer window as they approach the start of the new season in the next few days. The Whites are in the hunt to add attacking reinforcements, but transfer plans are going awry with just weeks left in the window.

Daniel Farke is worried about the state of his squad ahead of them facing Everton in the Premier League opener at Elland Road on Monday night. The Leeds boss doesn’t feel his squad lack the required quality in attack to be competitive during a long and hard season in the English top flight.

Leeds have been working hard behind the scenes to set up deals and are in talks with several players over potential moves. The club are looking to add a striker, a winger and a versatile attacking midfielder before the end of the window.

The Whites have not made a formal bid for another winger since losing out on Igor Paixao, despite monitoring other targets. However, they are set to get encouragement to follow through on their interest in one of the wide players they are tracking.

Liverpool are ready to sell Leeds United target Ben Doak

Ben Doak had a solid loan spell at Middlesbrough last season and has been impressive during pre-season with Liverpool this summer.

However, he doesn’t have a future at Anfield, and Leeds have expressed an interest in securing a deal to sign the winger in the ongoing transfer window.

Liverpool boss Arne Slot watched the winger in action, but the Reds have now decided what they want to do with him before the end of the window.

According to Football Insider, the Merseyside giants are now prepared to let him go if a club come up with a suitable offer for him before the end of the window.

Liverpool are prepared to let him go, but want a deal worth up to £20m before agreeing to sanction his exit in the next couple of weeks.

The 19-year-old winger is a top talent, but Liverpool are stacked with players in the wide areas, and the teenager is unlikely to get minutes if he stays.

Leeds should push to get this deal over the line soon

The Whites have preached patience in the window since missing out on Paixao, but the fans are growing increasingly frustrated.

With Bilal El Khannouss likely to join Newcastle, Leeds are now under pressure to turn to other targets and get a few deals over the line.

Doak is talented and is available at a reasonable price at this stage of the window. Leeds should table a formal bid and start negotiations with the Reds soon.

A few other Premier League clubs have their eyes on the Scotland international, and Leeds cannot afford to dither and miss out on another top target.
