“Crazy twist” in Jack Harrison future as Elland Road return looms

Leeds United offloaded multiple players this summer and are set to move even more over the next six months.

The club lost key players Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter to the Premier League. Glen Kamara, Marc Roca and Diego Llorente were also sold. A whole host of players left on a free; Robin Koch, Jamie Shackleton and Ian Poveda among others.

Others could only manage to leave the club on a temporary basis. And now, almost halfway through the season, Leeds United are set to decide on their futures.

Sonny Perkins joined Leyton Orient on loan to kickstart his career after failing to break into the first team. There is a high chance he will leave next summer. Sam Greenwood is also in a similar predicament out on loan at Preston.

Darko Gyabi returned to Plymouth on loan for more first team football. The midfielder is talented but has never been close to first team football in his Leeds career since joining.

New update on Leeds United star

Rasmus Kristensen has spent the last two seasons out on loan away from Leeds United. His time in England has been up and down, but this season he has made an impression and could be signed on a permanent deal according to the Frankfurt CEO:

“We are totally happy with him, he is a significant part of the group. He has brought in a winning mentality and aggression. He’s someone who pushes the youngsters and supports them positively, but also gives them a hard time. Rasmus is extremely important for us,”

Jack Harrison is another player who has been out on loan for the last two seasons. But after a decent campaign last year, his return to Everton has not been good this time. The forward has zero goals and assists in the Premier League so far, which has raised serious questions about his future.

EFL pundit Don Goodman believes Harrison is now “stuck” ahead of the transfer window next year:

“Jack Harrison is fighting some quality players at Everton and that’s not easy. At this moment he’s not really winning that battle. It looks like even he himself may be in a bit of turmoil if it’s a season’s loan and he’s not playing – he’s kind of stuck unless he can find another Premier League club to take him on loan, so it’s a mess all around really.”

Jack Harrison could return to Elland Road next summer

With how the season is going, there is probably a high chance Everton do not sign Jack Harrison. He could return to Leeds United in the summer. How he would be received at Elland Road is uncertain, but a player of his quality will no doubt be needed at the club.
