Leeds United to make shock transfer move for Archie Gray?

In a shocking twist of fate, it was revealed this week that former Leeds United hero Archie Gray could reunite with former Leeds Director of Football Victor Orta.

Gray heartbreakingly left Leeds for Tottenham Hotspurs after the West Yorkshire club failed to secure promotion to the Premier League losing the play-off final to Southampton.

Since making the switch, he has struggled for playing time and Orta has sensed an opportunity positioning his current club Seville to make a move for Gray which for Leeds fans would like seeing their best mate get together with their ex-wife.

However, this has prompted questions over whether Leeds United could swoop in and make a move for him instead.

Leeds United to make Archie Gray move?

Daniel Farke against Norwich City

Ahead of the trip to Bristol City, United boss Daniel Farke held a press conference where this topic was broached. He was asked if there could be a move from Leeds for Gray.

He said: “I don’t speak about other players who are under contract at other clubs. I’m a bit reluctant to do any comments who are not under contract anymore. Our fingers are crossed for Archie and his whole career. If you want some recommendation, he already has my telephone number but I keep it pretty private what I recommend.

“It’s always a challenge if you join a top eight Premier League club, top class players in positions, players who are signed for incredible money, all want to play,” said Farke. “Archie was involved in pre-season and has been involved in several Europa League games.

“A squad of 30 players, only 11 can start a game. I didn’t expect an 18 year old player from the second tier to take the Premier League by storm. I think Archie has impressed how far I can judge it, in the beginning of the season. It’s not up to me to judge his performances, I also don’t want to take part in any speculations after he’s just left us. I don’t think it would be classy to do it.”

A non-committal answer from Farke but you would hope that Leeds are keeping tabs on the situation and could swoop for the man who is a part of an insane Leeds United legacy.
