Daniel Farke already has crucial decision to make ahead of Bournemouth clash

Daniel Farke’s bold call this weekend helped Leeds United win their second game of the season. There was not a lot optimism going into the Wolves game after the game against Fulham.

The Whites held on for long periods in the game against the Londoners, but ultimately a late goal secured the win for Marco Silva’s side. Farke faced backlash when he named the same lineup at the Molineux – the focus was on Brenden Aaronson, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor in attack.

But ultimately, the big decision paid off. Calvert-Lewin and Okafor found the back of the net as Leeds won  by three goals to one.

Saturday’s game at the Molineux was the second game in a row that Lucas Perri was absent. The Brazilian keeper picked up an injury and is currently on the sidelines. He will be assessed during the week, and there is every chance he returns to the squad this weekend.

BBC Radio Leeds‘ Adam Pope holds the opinion that Karl Darlow should keep his place in the lineup for the upcoming game against Bournemouth.

“My view is, that I think he [Darlow] was unlucky not to have started the season [in the starting line-up].

“So I think he should keep his place on the basis of the last two performances, he was very good,”

What will Daniel Farke do?

We already know that Farke is not against bid decisions. If he feels Karl Darlow is good enough to continue in goal, the Welshman will keep his place this coming weekend. The Leeds boss has already spoken about Darlow being a trusted option in goal when it was announced that Perri could miss some games:

“He’s a guy who never cracks under pressure, and I’m pretty happy that we have such a mature and rock-solid goalkeeper who can step in when our number one, Lucas Perri, is out.

“It gives [Perri] also a bit more time, not to go on holiday, but it’s not like we have to push him and play him even though the injury is not fully recovered.

“So, we are all happy, and as long as we need Karl, I know he will perform really, really solidly.”
