Daniel Farke could make decision on Newcastle star – Leeds United set to move in on target soon

When it comes to the Premier League, you need goals to win games. As such, Leeds United could be in the market for attacking options in the summer.

This would come as a surprise to fans. A team that scored 95 goals would be good enough for any league, but with the recent gap in quality in the Premier League, more quality is needed.

Leeds added Raphinha and Rodrigo Moreno to their attack when they got promoted in 2020, and it paid off very well. The Whites managed to finish in the top half. This will surely be at the back of Daniel Farke’s mind heading into this summer.

Leeds’ search for firepower in recent weeks has lead them to Newcastle star Callum Wilson. The striker is out of contract this summer and could look to move to another club in the Premier League.

Former Chief Scout Mick Brown has revealed that Leeds are very interested in Callum Wilson:

“Leeds are considering a move to sign Callum Wilson,” he told Football Insider.

“Callum Wilson is a very decent player, especially at his best. He’s a big strong unit, not afraid to battle with defenders, and always puts a shift in.

“How much of that he can do and how often he can do it given his injury situation is always going to be a concern, but Leeds will have looked into it.

Brown then added that the Whites could make a decision soon.

“He’s very experienced in the Premier League and has scored goals at the top level for Newcastle and for England, which is always a valuable asset to have.

“So they will make a decision about whether they think he’s still capable and then make a move.”

Callum Wilson move should be a no brainer

Adding a striker who has over 80 Premier League goals should be something Daniel Farke needs to push for. Callum Wilson is at a good age to play in the league next season. If he manages to stay fit, he would be a very good attacking option.

Wilson provides a different dimension that Joel Piroe; the Newcastle star is quicker, and prefers to make runs in behind. This could help Leeds play on the counter next season.
