Daniel Farke dealt selection dilemma ahead of Everton clash after recent footage of £17m Leeds United ace emerges

Leeds United

Leeds United brought in 10 new players in the summer transfer window, and as the season has gone on, it has provided some challenges for Daniel Farke. Even with some players leaving this month, there continue to be selection dilemmas in the team.

Farke brought in a lot of new faces, but in the early part of the season, he did not seem to trust any of them. Only a handful got regular starts in the campaign, as the German stuck to a small group of players week to week. But as the season has progressed, the Leeds boss has learnt to rely on his squad.

Injuries and other absences have seen the team give chances to players who have barely featured this season. When Joe Rodon went down, Sebastiaan Bornauw was handed a big chance in the hear of defence. Jayden Bogle’s fitness struggles have also seen James Justin gain some valuable playing time.

Leeds United have selection dilemma ahead of Everton clash

The Whites are away to Everton on Monday night, as they continue their mission to put points on the board and distance themselves from relegation. So far, they are just five points above West Ham. The Hammers managed a huge result against Sunderland this weekend, and now the pressure is on Leeds United to get something against David Moyes’ men at the Hill Dickinson Stadium. The two sides faced off at Elland Road in the first game of the season, which was decided by a late Lukas Nmecha penalty.

Both teams are expected to be in for a tougher clash this time around. Anton Stach was seen in the training video posted on Leeds United’s socials on Sunday. The German has been out with a knock for the past few games. With the form the team has been in, Daniel Farke will be facing a real dilemma as to bringing the midfielder back into the lineup.

Does Daniel Farke stick or twist?

The unwritten rule in football management is ‘sticking to what works’, and Leeds United have been decent in the absence of Anton Stach. Even though he is a good player, his absence has not seen the team break down. Now, the big question is if Stach is handed a start on Monday night; especially with how Ao Tanaka and Ilia Gruev have done a decent job in the middle of the park.

Leeds PL Record With/Without Stach
Condition Games Win Rate
With Stach 19 21.05%
Without Stach 3 66.67%
