There has been some interesting news as Leeds United line up for their final pre-season game against AC Milan. This will be the last game before the Whites take on Everton in the Premier League.

The players named in Saturday’s matchday squad are making the headlines. The main one involving Illan Meslier, who is nowhere to be seen with the club. He was not named in the squad either, raising speculation over his future.

Lucas Perri is also making his first ever start for his new club, after recovering from the injury he had.

Isaac Schmidt will start another game at right back, after playing there against Villarreal. The Swiss defender is still with the club as Leeds are yet to bring in a new fullback.

Bogle has missed out on the matchday squad, and is rumoured to be carrying the same injury that ruled him out of the Villarreal game. Daniel Farke said last week:

“Jayden Bogle has problems with his hip flexor, it’s a bit of a concern,” said Farke. “Not sure if I have him available for AC Milan, I hope to have him back as soon as possible and for the last week of preparations.”

Leeds need to sign a new fullback

With how important Bogle is to this team, the club need to rush to find a backup for him. Sam Byram’s age would be a problem, and he does not offer as much going forward. Leeds need to act quickly to sign a player of a similar profile. It is clear what Daniel Farke expects from his right back, which is why Isaac Schmidt has filled in the position for the past two games.
