It will not be surprising to know that Leeds United needs to sign some players to improve the squad. More so after the 3-3 draw against Portsmouth which was meant to be an in-hand game.
The boys played well but there were a lot of missed chances. The score for the home side could have been easily doubled if not for the absolute sitters going wide.
Some defensive frailties allowed the visitors to get past three times. After a perfect pre-season campaign, it looked like everything was set for The Whites, but this is not the case.
As expected Daniel Farke was questioned regarding the club’s transfer strategy before the Portsmouth clash. He responded while agreeing to the fact that the squad is not complete yet.
“Two or three positions we have to strengthen a bit more. So far, so good, but weāre not the finished product yet. You can never have enough. Every manager wants more.”
“I would have loved to keep Summerville, Gray and to add even more quality but to be honest, thatās not the point. I know weāre in great talks, I totally believe in our owners, they are ambitious and back us.”
“We have to stick to the rules, in the years before we had some tricky decisions in transfer sums and salaries.”

Daniel Farke addresses key squad gaps and player departures
The management looks focused on addressing the gaps that were left by key departures. Daniel Farke confirmed that they need to cover two or three more positions which suggests more signings before the end of the window.
The German manager also talked about how managers want to have more and more players. A club can never have enough players but that’s not how football works.
He also mentioned the importance of Crysencio Summerville and Archie Gray both of whom left the club this summer. Summerville left for West Ham United in a deal worth Ā£25 million.
Archie Gray went to Tottenham Hotspur which saw The Whites make heavy money on the youngster. Spurs paid Ā£35 million for the 18-year-old.
Both of the players were very important to the squad contributing a lot to the promotion-hoped campaign last season. Crysencio Summerville made 31 goal contributions last season winning the Championship Player of the Season in the process.
Archie played 52 matches for The West Yorkshire outfit last season. The number of games emphasizes his importance in the squad which will be hard to replace in this dicey window.
Leeds United is working on finding key players who can replace departures and also filling gaps that kept them off promotion last season.
