Daniel Farke has worries about £15m star’s form ahead of Swansea clash – Leeds United need him to get back to his best

Leeds United are in the middle of an extremely tight race for automatic promotion to the Premier League. They lead the table by 80 points but Sheffield United and Burnely are snapping at their heels and the Whites need to get back to their best after the break. However, Whites boss Daniel Farke must also be worried about the form of a star player whose performances have dipped in recent weeks.

The Yorkshire giants will return to Championship action a week from Saturday when they host Swansea City at Elland Road and they will hope to get back on track at home and win all three points.

A run of two wins in five has made Leeds United look more fallible in recent weeks and they are hoping the players will produce a strong response fuelled by the home crowd against the Welsh side.

Farke is massive about backing his players when they are going through a rough patch and he will hope the home crowd will be able to re-energise a star who has struggled to produce the goods in recent games.

Leeds United need Manor Solomon to find his touch again soon

Solomon has been a wonderful player for Leeds this season and has especially been brilliant since he replaced Wilfried Gnonto in the starting eleven in December.

His goals and assists have driven Leeds to the top of the Championship table but the numbers have dried up for the winger in the last few weeks.

The winger has still looked threatening on occasions in recent games but the output is not the same and he has failed to score or assist in Leeds’ last six Championship games.

Farke has reasons to worry about Solomon’s form as he has been pivotal to Leeds’ rise this season and his consistency until recently was a feature of the team.

The numbers clearly suggest the winger’s performances have dropped in the last few weeks and Leeds need him at his best after the break.

Solomon’s future is tied to his performances

Leeds have already decided that they want to sign the winger on a permanent deal but they can’t approach Tottenham until promotion is secured.

Solomon has been a key driver in Leeds’ promotion charge and if he regains his form, his performances could secure the Whites a sit in the Premier League next season.

His performances could end up ensuring Leeds go back to Tottenham in the summer and negotiate a deal to sign him on a permanent transfer in the summer.

Leeds will hope the Israel international gets his mojo back in the next week or so and scripts the side’s promotion to the top flight in the final eight games of the season.
