Daniel Farke is worse than Jesse Marsch – 49ers stunned by alarming new Leeds United stat

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke is under intense pressure after his side suffered their fifth defeat in six Premier League games against Aston Villa at Elland Road on Sunday.

A fortuitous goal gave Leeds the lead at Elland Road against the Villans, and while their performance was not bad, they failed to create enough clear-cut opportunities.

Aston Villa came back in the second half, and two Morgan Rogers goals earned them the three points as Leeds suffered another poor defeat at home in the Premier League.

Farke claimed after the game that he was happy with the level of his side’s performance despite the defeat. However, the Leeds manager’s record is now ringing alarm bells inside the Whites boardroom.

Daniel Farke is turning out to be worse than Jesse Marsch

Marsch is considered one of the worst managers to get their hands on Leeds in recent years and gets largely blamed for their relegation in the 2022/23 season.

Many feel that the previous owners were too slow to sack the American, and if he had been sacked earlier, Leeds could have still made something of that Premier League campaign.

However, alarmingly for Leeds fans and the boardroom, Marsch’s record in the Premier League is looking far better than what Farke has achieved this season.

LUFC data has revealed that no Leeds manager, who has managed five or more Premier League games, has fewer points per game than the German.

Farke is literally at the bottom of the list of Leeds managers who have coached the team in the Premier League, which is a huge concern for the fans and the boardroom.

Marsch has a superior points per game ratio than Farke, and the American is considered the worst manager in Leeds’ recent history.

The 49ers will need to decide on Farke soon

Farke dismissed questions over his future at Leeds following the 2-1 loss against Villa at home on Sunday. However, the boardroom can’t be that dismissive.

Leeds have lost five of their last six Premier League games and are currently on a three-game losing streak. The side are not creating enough chances and are leaking goals.

They have a horror run ahead of them where they will face Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool in back-to-back games, where they are expected to sink further.

Leeds are in the relegation zone, and there are few signs of things improving as Marsch seems hell-bent on trusting certain players who are not delivering the goods consistently.

The comparisons with Marsch are bound to happen, but the 49ers must not commit the same mistakes that Andrea Radrizzani and his camp made in the 2022/23 season.

More importantly, Farke’s record in the Premier League with Norwich City suggests that he could struggle to arrest this slide.

They must act when the season is still salvageable, and take a long, hard look at whether it is still worth it to back Farke despite evidence suggesting otherwise.
