Leeds United gained promotion to the Premier League on Easter Monday, after Sheffield United lost to Burnley. Just hours before the news was confirmed, the Whites had smashed Stoke City 6-0 at Elland Road.
The whole week was full of positivity – players celebrating promotion on social media, and news surrounding possible transfer targets. The club was actively looking forward to next season. Then the major rumour dropped.
According to the report, Leeds were monitoring other coaches to take over the club before they reach the Premier League. This hinted that Daniel Farke would be sacked at the end of the season. The main reason for this being the German’s record after promotion.

Throughout the week, sources close to the club have rubbished some of the reports, but there has been no official statement from the 49ers or Paraag Marathe so far. Leeds face Stoke City on Monday, with the league title firmly in sights for the club.
Daniel Farke finally had his say on the recent news in his press conference:
”It’s not suprising. I knew what kind of club I signed. It’s normally a good effort if you last three months in this club.
You know when you sign a contract there is a lot of pressure. Often that someone is linked. It’s nothing new or not expect. Journalists who have never spoken to the club want to write about news. Sometimes they want to create some shock news.”
The Leeds boss has rather embraced the news and is focused on winning the Championship.
”The big problem when in charge of this club if you take it personally. The handle the rumours and gossip is not easy but I’m aware it happens on a weekly basis. I’m just concentrated and focus to win the title.
From today its back to work and to make sure we achieve the next step and make it an established PL club. I don’t have any time or energy to waste of gossip on anything on other that we want to achieve.”
Farke sack news is nonsense
49ers Enterprises seem like a level headed entity. So far, they have made the right decisions when it comes to the team. They hired Daniel Farke because they knew he could get the club back to the top flight. Why would they then turn around and sack him before a ball is kicked. This news comes as a distraction, Leeds now need to focus and win the league title.
