Leeds United are still in the market as they hope to conclude some deals before the transfer window closes. The Whites have managed to get one deal across the line this week, with James Justin joining from Leicester City.
Daniel Farke has asked for reinforcements in other areas of the squad. The loss to Arsenal showed the gap in quality between newly promoted teams and the rest of the Premier League. Leeds were punished for their errors, and dominated during set pieces.
Daniel Farke’s men had an opportunity to bounce back on Tuesday night. They faced a very young Sheffield Wednesday side. But the Whites were held to a draw in regulation time, and lost in a penalty shootout.

The Leeds boss confirmed on Tuesday night that Ao Tanaka had injured his MCL, and could miss out on games up until the international break. The Japanese international was taken off in the second half of the defeat to Arsenal. Ethan Ampadu also picked up a similar injury in the first game against Everton, and is out for a similar period.
Despite already having lost two key midfielders, Daniel Farke says there will be no more midfielders signed in this window:
“We will see. We definitely want to do a bit more, I think it’s fair to say our attack wasn’t at the top level today, which we were aware of. I’m happy with the signing of James Justin. I think our defensive and midfield positions are all sorted but it’s no secret we would like to add some quality to our attack.”
Good call from the club
Leeds had a well planned out summer window, and handled the defence and midfield first. Now, the club is looking to add attacking reinforcements. In the first few games to start the season, it has been quite obvious where the team’s weaknesses lie.
The Whites have struggled in front of goal despite creating good chances. Leeds need to splash the cash on a clinical attacker if they want to survive in the Premier League this season.
What we need and have for the past 3 years is an out and out center forward, like microfiche e scores goal regular ,and best of all scores penalties! That debacle of last night worried me against a very young Wednesday side we said to score ,even get near until Bogle showed the so called strikers were the net was ,and the penalties if they stop trying to be clever with run ups ,do the deed like Peter Lorimer did walked up drew back his foot and bang penalty done and dusted ,but if we take on the likes of Newcastle, Liverpool, with the likes of Piroe,up front the relegation will be done by Christmas because I can’t see were 1 to 3 goals a game are going to come from ,Calvert Lewin is he the answer on his track record NO ,so here is the hope ,the prayer that… Read more »
