Leeds United signed 10 new players in the summer as they prepared for their return to the Premier League. Some fans were sceptical about these signings, but overall it was a decent window.
The Whites managed to strengthen their defence, added key midfielders and brought some depth into the attack. Leeds got some key options on the bench that they did not have last season.
And that has lead to a few problems this campaign as some players have seen their playing time reduce drastically. Following the shift to the 3-5-2 system, a lot of players have either been moved out of position or just been left on the bench.
Wilfried Gnonto faces Leeds United dilemma
One of these first team players is Wilfried Gnonto. Last season, he was a key piece off the bench, coming on to change games with his pace and running. The winger has seen less and less game time as the season goes on and was even used as a wingback in the FA Cup over the weekend.
SportsBoom are reporting that Italian giants AC Milan, Inter Milan and Juventus are eyeing the winger for a possible transfer deal. These Serie A clubs are convinced that Gnonto would be open to a move to Italy after not featuring much in the Leeds first team this season.
| Competition | Games Played | Minutes | Goals | Assists |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Premier League | 12 | 331 | 0 | 1 |
| FA Cup | 1 | 88 | 1 | 0 |
| EFL Cup | 1 | 32 | 0 | 1 |
Farke has preferred to use Noah Okafor and even Brenden Aaronson this season ahead of the Italian international.

Club could lose him in the near future
Interest from big serie A clubs will be hard to turn down. It was just a few seasons ago that Gnonto refused to train to try and force a move away. Since then, he has worked hard to earn Farke’s trust in the team again.
Now it is up to the Leeds boss whether the winger stays or leaves. Between now and the end of the season, is it likely that how much Gnonto will play determines his future at the club. If he continues to be sparingly used, then Leeds would have to lose him as he would prefer to go to a club where he would actually get some playing time.
