Daniel Farke offers key injury updates ahead of Bristol City clash

Daniel Farke offered key injury updates

This season has been on one of the bad sides in terms of injury. Although even with an injury crisis, Daniel Farke and Co. have held their footing and currently stand third in The Championship.

One of the major blows came after Ilia Gruev and Ethan Ampadu’s injuries. With only two senior midfielders in the squad, The 49ers were in a difficult situation with the promotion chase.

However, Daniel Farke acted fast and signed Frenchman Josuha Guilavogui for backup. Leeds United are now looking a bit stable but key injuries remain and Farke has provided timelines for some key players.

While talking to the media, the German gaffer revealed the expected timelines and progression of the injured players. There is both good and bad news so things might remain the same for The 49ers till the new year.

Unfortunately, Largie Ramazani will not be available for four to six weeks but surgery is out of the question with only ligament damage taking place.

“Sadly, it’s bad news with him. We have assessed him and it’s a serious ligament injury. He doesn’t need surgery but he will be out for four to six weeks.”

Ethan Ampadu and Ilai Gruev’s long-term unavailability remains with both of them out till at least the new year. Both Ao Tanaka and Joe Rothwell will have to stay consistent for Leeds in order for them to have a say in the promotion race.

“What would be realistic for [Ampadu] is to have him available for January. If he can return in December, it would be a nice little surprise. Gruev will definitely not come back in 2024. Wober is a bit ahead of schedule and could join us in team training next week. We’ll see if he can be available before the [November] international break. It looks OK with him.”

Apart from the injury updates, the German manager had huge praises for incoming Leeds United midfielder Josuha Guilavogui. The former French international recently joined The 49ers just a few days ago as a free agent.

The midfielder is here to cover for Tanaka and Rothwell considering there are no senior options after Ampadu and Gruev’s injuries. Guilavogui is expected to stay with the club till at least the end of the season and will take on a more mentorship kind of role at Elland Road.
