Leeds United recorded a huge win at Elland Road this weekend. The result set them up for promotion, after Sheffield United’s huge slip up.
Daniel Farke’s men had to worry about the Blades and the Clarets as the chasing pack in the past few weeks. But now, Chris Wilder’s side have cost themselves an automatic promotion place. Leeds have relied on their home form for most of this season. Elland Road is where the club have won most of their points this season.
The issue lies outside the club’s home stadium. Results on the road are not irregular, but recently Leeds have dropped points to QPR and Portsmouth, two clubs battling at the lower end of the table.

The Whites will face Oxford United on Friday. Gary Rowett’s side have been encouraged by their win over Sheffield Wednesday last weekend. Three points added now means that Oxford are close to safety this season. They could seal the result when they face Daniel Farke’s side.
With how immense the club’s home support has been, the Leeds boss says support away from home will also matter in upcoming games:
“I don’t listen to every word but you can sense it,” he said. “I’m not a robot.
“But it’s important for me not to get too carried away.
“I can’t allow myself to be too emotional or enjoy the atmosphere too much but once you look back and especially when you have our lap of honour it’s a great feeling to celebrate with supporters.”
With four games to go, Leeds still sit top of the Championship.

The Whites managed to scrape past Middlesbrough last week after Dan James scored an early goal. Leeds will be without the flying Welshman this weekend, after Daniel Farke hinted it would be too early for him to return from a hamstring problem.
