Daniel Farke will get sacked – Leeds United manager warned about the cost of failure

Leeds United manager Daniel Farke and his team are under pressure to secure automatic promotion at the business end of the season. Their recent form has been patchy but a seemingly easier run-in has led to claims that the Whites should get promoted. However, Farke has been warned that he will pay for his job if they fail again in the coming weeks.

The Leeds board decided to back Daniel Farke at the end of last season despite his side losing the playoff final and he has again constructed a team who have been tipped as the best in the Championship this term.

However, it is still very tight at the top of the Championship table and Leeds are under some pressure ahead of resuming the league season with a home game against Swansea this weekend.

Farke got one more opportunity last year after his team failed but the German has been warned that the axe will fall on his head if Leeds do not get promoted this season.

‘Not getting promoted will be a disaster for Leeds, Daniel Farke will get sacked’

Mick Brown, who was a scout at Aston Villa and Sunday, insisted that Leeds are the best team in the Championship but stressed that counts for nothing at this stage of the season.

He is worried about the inconsistency the Whites have shown in recent games and conceded that not getting promoted would be disastrous for Leeds.

The experienced observer admitted that Farke will have to pay for his job if Leeds do not get promoted this time around and he needs to ensure in the coming weeks that it doesn’t happen.

“Leeds, on paper, are by far the best team in the Championship”, Brown told Football Insider.

“But that doesn’t mean they’re nailed-on to get promoted.

“Results have been a bit inconsistent lately and you never know which Leeds are going to turn up.

“It’s been a good season so far, but they’re looking to end the season strongly because their aim is to get promoted to the Premier League.

“They missed out last season, and everybody knows about their history in the playoffs.

“If they don’t get promoted, the owners are not going to be happy.

“It would be a disaster by all accounts because of the money they’ve spent and the squad the manager has available to him.

“Ultimately, the manager’s aim is to get them promoted, and if he can’t deliver that then he will be sacked.

“He wants to put together a strong end to the season to make sure that doesn’t happen.”

Farke has been brilliant for Leeds but another season in the Champions will lead to his dismissal

Farke will point to the results and the performances his team have put up this season and he will back the players to get the job done in the coming weeks.

However, the 49ers are expecting Leeds to be in the Premier League next season and their plans for the club are based on them being a top-flight side.

They backed Farke last year despite his failure to get Leeds promoted but that is unlikely to happen this time around if the Whites again fail to achieve their primary goal.

Not getting promoted will have financial consequences for Leeds and Farke cannot escape blame if the team are in the Championship again next season.
