Daniel Farke’s Leeds United future clearer after latest update

Daniel Farke Leeds United

Before facing Chelsea and Liverpool in the space of a few days, Leeds United manager Daniel Farke was under heavy pressure to deliver. After falling into the relegation zone following a string of defeats, things did not look well.

But the German has surprised everyone this week, with Leeds pulling off two incredible performances. With their new look 3-5-2 system, Farke shocked Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, beating the London side 3-1 at Elland Road. The club pulled off this result despite reports emerging that Farke could have been sacked if he lost on that night.

The Whites were on the verge of defeat early in the second half against Liverpool on Saturday. Hugo Ekitike scored a brace with the Reds cruising to victory; but Leeds fought their way back to 2-2 as Anton Stach and Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored. Dominik Szoboszlai’s late goal had sealed the game, but Ao Tanaka came off the bench to secure a precious point for Leeds.

Leeds United boss Daniel Farke update emerges amidst sack talk

Now the talk of Farke’s future seems to have died down. The performances the team have showed over this past week have been a huge indicator of what they can do moving forward. One big update has also emerged, as it is said that Ange Postecoglou is not in a rush to take his next job in England.

This was shared by Football Insider’s Pete O’Rourke:

“He’s going to be popular amongst clubs if clubs are looking to change the manager because he’s one of the best free and available managers out there right now.

“We know he got a lot of flak at Tottenham, but he still won a trophy there.

“For me, he didn’t get the time to change things around at Nottingham Forest.

“Obviously, the club decided to part ways with him after a slow start to life at the City Ground.

“But, he’s a proven winner, he proved that up at Celtic, he brought a trophy to Tottenham and we’ve seen problems this season.

“For me, he’s still a top manager and that’s why he’s probably being linked with a number of these clubs who are maybe considering managerial changes.

“I think he won’t be rushing into anything and he’ll probably take his time where he decides he wants to continue his managerial career.”

Club needs to pause on a managerial decision

Making a hasty decision now could derail the progress of the team. It was evident since the second half performance at the Etihad that this team is willing to fight for Farke. Now, the owners must show a bit of patient to see what happens in the coming weeks.

So far, the Whites have navigated games against Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea – with four points out of nine. That alone should be enough to buy the Leeds boss a bit of time ahead of the January window.
