Dominic Calvert-Lewin scored deep into injury time to secure a dramatic 1-0 victory for Leeds United against Brighton at Elland Road earlier today.

Leeds gave their supporters the ideal send-off in the final home game of the season, with Calvert-Lewin’s late winner sparking huge celebrations inside the stadium.

The three points took them to 13th in the Premier League table, and if results go their way and if they beat West Ham on the final day, Leeds could finish as high as 11th in the final standings.

No one could have predicted this season at the start of the season, when Leeds were being urged to get rid of Daniel Farke because of his poor record in the top flight.

However, the Leeds manager has proved everyone wrong and more or less confirmed his future at Elland Road following the win over Brighton.

Daniel Farke indicates future decision with comments about Leeds fans

The Leeds manager is set to enter the final 12 months of his contract at Elland Road this summer, and he recently challenged the board to match his ambition if they want to keep him.

There are also suggestions that the Leeds board may not be too happy with the manager. However, it is hard to see how he leaves Leeds after what he has done this season.

The Leeds supporters provided vocal support to Farke after the Brighton clash on Sunday, and Farke’s comments suggested that he is likely to stay.

He called them the best fanbase in the world and wants to continue to provide them with such moments of joy in the future.

Asked if he felt happy about the Leeds fans chanting his name after the game, Farke told reporters: “Not so much that, but seeing everyone chanting with joy.

“This fan base is the best in football. It’s the most important asset. Second to none in world football. I’m so pleased to give joy and pride back.

“Long may it continue.”

He is in a strong position at Leeds

Even if some people still had doubts about Daniel Farke last year, he has completely won over the Leeds supporters this season by guiding the club to Premier League survival.

The German manager managed to turn things around during a difficult spell in October and November, tweaking the system and finding an approach that transformed Leeds’ form.

Since then, Leeds have become one of the hardest teams to beat in the Premier League, losing just four of their last 23 league matches.

Daniel Farke’s Managerial Record & Statistics at Leeds United
Metric Value / Record
Total Matches Managed 147
Wins 76
Draws 38
Losses 33
Win Percentage 51.7%
Points Per Match (PPM) 1.81
Major Honors EFL Championship (24/25)

If Farke were to walk away from the club this summer, it would be a huge public relations blow for the 49ers and something they can ill afford.

The owners now need to show their ambition, convince Farke to stay long-term and support him properly in the transfer market so he can continue strengthening the squad this summer.
