Saturday was the perfect day for Leeds United fans, they had to make the long trip to the Molineux and were rewarded. The Whites were coming off the back of a disappointing loss to Fulham.
And after just eight minutes, it looked like it would not be Leeds’ day – Wolves opened the scoring through Ladislav Krejci. Dominic Calvert-Lewin leapt highest as he scored from a header to tie the game. Anton Stach hit a beautiful free kick from outside the box to make it 2-1.
Then Noah Okafor scored the third in a dominant first half performance for Daniel Farke’s men.

The result has now lifted the mood at Elland Road, but there are still some people who consider the win a short-term result. Danny Murphy was speaking on Talksport discussing which teams would be relegated this season.
And despite Leeds’ start to the campaign, the former Premier League midfielder thinks Daniel Farke will not do enough to keep them in the top flight:
“I still think Leeds and Burnley will go.”
“I think the biggest problem for Burnley and Leeds is firepower,” Murphy continued, “I agree with what we talked about earlier. I think all the newly promoted sides doing well is great for the Premier League.
“I’d like to see them all stay up, actually. But I don’t think it’ll be the case. Burnley struggled in front of goal. Leeds had only scored one, and that was a penalty, until Wolves kept giving them goals the other day. I like Leeds. Calvert-Lewin is a handful; that’s a great goal he got.”
Daniel Farke on narratives changing around the club
Danny Murphy’s comments feed into what Daniel Farke was saying after the win over Wolves. The Leeds boss has said that fans tend to overreact as seen last week. And now this week, everyone is over excited:
“This changes every week. Now we win some will talk about Europe now. Sometimes we can be over excited.
“I’m glad I can send my supporters home happy – they should be allowed to dream. But we stay humble.
“Seven points is not to stay up. But it’s important to enjoy these moments, It’s important for the mood and the confidence.
“A really good weekend for us.”
