Jermaine Beckford tips Leeds United loanee to shine
Leeds United are three points clear of the relegation zone, and while they are yet to secure Premier League safety, the club are already planning for the next summer transfer window.
With safety starting to feel more realistic, attention is gradually beginning to turn toward the future. Behind the scenes, Leeds have already started putting plans in place for what could be a busy summer as they look ahead to the 2026/27 season.
Adding quality to the squad will be a key priority. A new goalkeeper is expected to be high on the club’s list, while Leeds are also preparing to step up their pursuit of Middlesbrough midfielder Hayden Hackney, with a more serious approach likely in the coming months.
However, Leeds have a few decisions to make on certain loanees who are scheduled to return in the summer, and Jermaine Beckford has already backed them to shine at Elland Road.
Jermaine Beckford tips Largie Ramazani for a breakthrough at Leeds next season
Ramazani is proving himself at Valencia after struggling in the first half of the season. He has scored some important goals for Los Che in the last few weeks.
He is scheduled to return to Leeds in the summer, but there are question marks over his long-term future at Elland Road.
However, Beckford insisted that the Belgian winger’s explosive pace should be a huge boost for Leeds as defenders hate playing against anyone who has that quality.
He believes Ramazani has learned how to use his pace at the right moments in Spain and believes Leeds will see a better version of the winger when he returns in the summer.
Beckford told The Yorkshire Post: “He’s got that explosive pace, and he’s a wide player as well; full-backs hate that. It’s the one thing you can’t defend against.
“He just needs to learn how to use it and when to use it, and that’s what he’s doing out in Valencia.
“The way he’s moving, the goals he’s scoring, the confidence he’s playing with, he understands it. When he does come back to Leeds United, he’ll be a different player to the one we saw on loan initially.”
Daniel Farke has a decision to make
Farke made it clear that it was Ramazani who wanted to return to Spain last summer. However, it was clear that the manager had no plans to hold on to him.
Leeds loaned him out with no buy option as they wanted to have control over his future and potentially sell him for a profit in the near future.
However, Ramazani’s current form is likely to force Leeds into considering their options ahead of the summer transfer window.
Farke has a decision to make, as currently it does not seem that Ramazani has a natural position in the team, given the 5-3-2 formation he has deployed.
Leeds are expected to sell some of their wingers as they are struggling to get game time this season. It is unclear how Ramazani fits into their plans for next season.
