Leeds United loanee Diego Llorente believes AS Roma showed him “more love” and that is why he rejoined them this season.
The defender fell out of favour with multiple Leeds coaches last year, and was loaned out to the Italian side. He only made a handful of appearances as Roma reached the Europa League final, but the club were keen to bring him back.
Now the Spaniard says his only priority this summer was returning to Rome:
“I immediately felt very loved here,” he said. “I wanted to come back and for me it was the only option. I wanted to do a full season here.”
When asked about new signing, fellow Leeds loanee Rasmus Kristensen, Llorente said:
“He’s a great signing,” he said of the 26-year-old. “He’s a complete player who can help us both defensively and offensively.”
