Leeds United defender Diego Llorente shared a heartfelt message as he completed a deadline day move to AS Roma on loan.

The defender has struggled for game time this season, only featuring in eight Premier League games this season. He recently renewed his contract to extend his stay at Elland Road beyond 2025.

Llorente wrote on his Twitter: “I only have words of gratitude towards Leeds and their fans.

“Thank you for being by my side at all times! I wish you all the best for the remainder of the season. I will cheer you up from distance! MOT”

Llorente joined Leeds from Real Sociedad for a reported £18million in the summer of 2020, going on to make over 60 appearances for the club. He will be on loan with the Italian club for the rest of the season, with Leeds negotiating an option to buy worth around £18million.
