Before Leeds United made this flurry of new signings, the plan was to make some player sales early in the window. So far, three new players have arrived at Elland Road.
It is telling that two of them came from the Bundesliga; Lukas Nmecha and Sebastiaan Bornauw were both from Wolfsburg. Nmecha arrived on a free, while Bornauw joined for just £5million. Leeds are also pursuing Hoffenheim star Anton Stach. According to Graeme Bailey, the reason why the transfers have been largely from Germany is due to the influence of Red Bull.
The outgoings so far have not gone as planned. The likes of Illan Meslier, Sam Greenwood, Darko Gyabi and Joe Gelhardt still remain at the club.

One of the players that has been told to find a new club is Max Wober. The Austrian revealed during the last international break that the club has been keen on selling him for a while. Wober made four appearances between January and the end of the season.
Leeds are now set to get their wish. Florian Plettenburg has confirmed that Werder Bremen are set to sign Max Wober on a four-year deal. A fee has not been clearly stated, but it is expected to be a ”low single-digit” million. All agreements have been made, and the deal could be completed in the next 2-3 days.

With the arrival of two defenders, it was inevitable that the Austrian would be leaving soon.
Sebastiaan Bornauw’s role has been confirmed
Many fans were confused why two defenders were signed in the space of a week. But now, looking at it, Sebastiaan Bornauw is now set to become the direct replacement for Max Wober.

The former Wolfsburg man will now assume the rotational role that Wober had this past season. It is not something new to Bornauw, the past two seasons have seen him start just 68.5% of available games for Wolfsburg. Leeds United will have serious competition for defensive places next season.
