Leeds United had quite an eventful summer transfer window, where they brought in 10 new players into the first team as they prepared for their return to the Premier League.
Despite splashing over £100 million, fans were not happy over the lack of investment in the attack. Out of all the signings, the Whites signed just one attacker on a permanent deal for a transfer fee – Noah Okafor.
Missing out on key attacking names sent the club into a panic; in the last few days of the window, Leeds attempted to sign multiple players. But failed to sign one as the deadline passed.
However, one of the targets they missed out on eventually joined in the January window. Facundo Buonanotte cut short his loan deal at Chelsea to come and join the Whites for the rest of the season. Reports suggested that the player made the decision, and there were talks between both parties in December.
Harry Wilson update emerges amidst Leeds United interest
Another summer target could be available according to the latest report. Fulham’s Harry Wilson has still not signed a new contract at Craven Cottage. And per a report from talkSPORT, they say the midfielder is not close to signing a new deal with the London club. Leeds were in talks to sign the Welsh international on deadline day, but Fulham pulled the plug at the last minute.
Everton, Sunderland, Crystal Palace and Leeds are said to be in the race to sign the 28-year old when he becomes a free agent. Wilson is reportedly leaning on leaving the London club on a free to earn a huge contract and signing-on fee at this stage of his career.

Leeds need to survive to make deal a reality
If Leeds United want to stand a chance at signing Harry Wilson in the summer, then surviving relegation is non-negotiable. Looking at the clubs they will be competing with, going down to the Championship is not an option. Being relegated also means less money to spend on players and wages too.
So for now, the focus will be on Daniel Farke and his men to continue to work their way to safety. They have been off to a brilliant start this year, but they must continue towards the end of the season.
