Leeds United have been looking for a goalkeeper since the end of this season. The major decision Daniel Farke took during the run in could lead to a series of events.
When Leeds were going through a bad run, Meslier’s errors against Swansea threated to derail the club’s season. Farke made Karl Darlow number one till the end of the season, with the veteran conceding just four goals on the way to winning the league title.
Meslier has been tipped to leave this summer, which means that the Whites will be in the market for a new stopper. The latest name to be linked is Newcastle’s Nick Pope, but a deal can only be completed if Burnley are involved.

Last week, Leeds were linked with Mjällby stopper Noel Törnqvist. The Swedish U21 goalkeeper has previously been a target of the club, and the Whites are set to reignite their interest this summer.
When asked about the links with a move to Elland Road, he sounded thrilled:
“Of course it’s fun. It means you’re doing something well. I answer the same thing so it’s quite boring, but now it’s like that. It’s proof that you’re doing it well and I take it in stride. At the same time, there’s more focus here but it’s fun to hear about it.” he said speaking to Fotbolldirekt.
The 23-year old also said a move to England would be a huge step in his career.
“Of course it is. I would be lying if I said otherwise. England and Italy are probably the main destinations that I have had since I was little. We’ll see what happens.”
Törnqvist could be a useful backup
At the reported fee of £1.5million, Leeds could secure a long term backup goalkeeper. The current options at the club are starting to age. Karl Darlow is 35 later this year, and reserve keeper Alex Cairs is 32.
Getting a keeper with high potential like Noel Törnqvist could be worth it long-term.
