Leeds United are set to ramp up efforts to bring in new signings this week. The club kick off their Premier League campaign in the next week, and some new additions are required.

Daniel Farke made this emphasis after the last two games against AC Milan and Villarreal. Knocks to Jayden Bogle and Dan James over the past week pushed the Leeds boss to ask for new signings. Farke also complained about the quality in attack, after the club lost Manor Solomon.

Leeds are yet to sign a new player after Lucas Perri, which has been too long without activity, according to some fans.

James Justin has been on Leeds’ radar the past week. Reports claim that the England defender could be available for just £6million. But the player’s comments over the weekend have now raised some eyebrows over his future.

The Leicester City star spoke about the season ahead, and challenging for promotion while being part of the leadership in the dressing room:

“It’s going to be a group effort from all of us in the leadership group. We’ve got a lot of years between us, and people who’ve been promoted from the league before. Hopefully, we know how to get the job done.

“Build that bridge between the dressing room and the management. A good squad, talent everywhere, we will have to use the squad throughout, it’s a long old slog. We’ve got a squad to challenge,” he said to BBC Radio Leicester.

Isaac Schmidt transfer still in limbo

After looking like he was on his way out this summer, Isaac Schmidt has started the last two games in pre-season. But this is only because Jayden Bogle was out due to injury. With just days till the Premier League starts, Schmidt’s future is undecided.

Werder Bremen still have an agreement to sign him, but Daniel Farke asked to find a replacement first. Leeds are not even close to bringing in a new fullback which has raised a lot of questions.

Leeds need cover at fullback

Jayden Bogle missing the last two games opened the eyes of a lot of people around the club. Many now realize how important the fullback is. He makes the team tick, and provides a lot of attacking edge from right back. As it stands, he does not have a backup heading into the season – Isaac Schmidt is more natural on the left of defence.

It remains to be seen if Daniel Farke will trust Sam Byram either. Leeds need to sign someone capable of stepping in when Bogle is out; preferably a player who can contribute to the attacking style of the team.
