Leeds United midfielder Ethan Ampadu has said the team have a main focus on being defensively solid this season.
Ampadu joined Leeds United in the summer transfer window from Chelsea. So far he has been involved in every game since he joined the club. His displays have already earned him rave reviews from the Elland Road faithful.
Since their 4-3 win over Ipswich a few weeks ago, Leeds have turned a corner. They are unbeaten in their last three games with three consecutive clean sheets. Ampadu said the team’s focus has been on clean sheets and defensive solidity under Daniel Farke this season:
“You can’t lose the game if you keep clean sheets, so that is the baseline and what we pride ourselves on.
“In the end, we’re happy with a point, when you can’t go and win a game, you have to make sure you don’t lose it.
“We are also a bit disappointed, though, we had a lot of chances, especially in the first half and up to the 60 minute mark, we just needed to be a bit more clinical.”
