Leeds United could find themselves in the middle of a transfer race with Sunderland, Brentford and Wolves this week. The club could end their window with close to 10 signings.
The Whites have had a very good transfer window so far, bringing in eight new additions. There was a ‘build from the back’ mentality in the early parts of the transfer window, with focus on the defence and midfield. Leeds signed Jaka Bijol, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Sebastiaan Bornauw to improve the backline.
Daniel Farke also gave the team the green light in deals to sign Anton Stach and Sean Longstaff. The Leeds boss believed the midfield lacked some physicality and experience to handle top flight football. Stach was immense in the club’s win over Everton on Monday night, leading to Farke calling him a ‘dream’ signing:
“He’s a proven player, mentally strong, intelligent, understands the game, and brings the physicality we need.
“He’s also very good on the ball, a pretty complex player overall, and honestly, one of my dream signings for this season.”

Christantus Uche has once again become a hot topic. The Getafe midfielder scored and had an assist over the weekend, as clubs in Europe line up for his signature. Uche’s agent infamously denied rumours of a move, but he could now be set for the exit this summer.
The Nigerian reportedly has a £21.6million release clause, but Getafe are said to be open to selling for less because of financial regulations. Getafe president José Bordalás has already admitted the club need to sell players to unlock funds to register new players in their squad.
“We’ll have to release some so we can register all or almost all of them. I wouldn’t like Uche or anyone to leave, but we have to accept the offers we have, and there are several,”
As of Monday, AS are reporting that Leeds and Sunderland lead the race for the 22-year old.
Uche could provide a spark in attack
The Nigerian is a versatile player who thrives arriving in the box, he can play a variety of roles too. He would be a perfect fit for a role as an advanced midfielder or even behind the striker.
Uche’s numbers last season were great for a debut campaign – four goals, and six assists. He would definitely provide a different dimension than what the current crop of midfielders offer.
