This week, Leeds are exploring the signing of Liverpool star Kostas Tsimikas. The Reds are set to sign a new left back, which could open the door for the Greek international’s exit. Leeds are ready to make the left back one of the highest-paid stars at the club.
Daniel Farke seems to be in the market for Premier League midfielders. The Whites have been linked with Tomas Soucek and Sean Longstaff recently. But it now seems Leeds have their eye on Everton’s Abdoulaye Doucoure. The 32-year old is set to leave Goodison Park on a free this summer, with clubs lined up to sign him.
Everton boss David Moyes has now revealed that Doucoure’s future at the club is yet to be decided:
“I don’t know, probably just waving at them all, I’m not sure. He’s done great for the club, he’s done great, so there’s nothing one way or the other at the moment regarding his contract.” he told TNT Sports.
Doucoure is the type of signing Leeds need
The midfielder would become an immediate starter at the club. His role has evolved over the last year, with Doucoure now more of a second striker/attacking midfielder. The 32-year old plays behind the striker, winning long balls and duels while contributing to goals by making late runs into the box.
Doucoure has over 20 goal contributions in the last three seasons, all being crucial to help Everton survive relegation each year. Leeds could do with this kind of output next season.
