Leeds United continue their pursuit of transfer targets as the summer window approaches. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team have an uphill task as they put together a squad for the Premier League.
Leeds are expected to be backed financially after club chairman Paraag Marathe’s comments. He vowed to the fans that he would do everything possible to help preserve the club’s top flight status. News this week suggests that the club will have upwards of £150million to spend outside player sales.
There has been growing speculation linking the club with strikers in the market. Since the news came out that Leeds sources believe the club will not depend on Joel Piroe in the Premier League, many names have been linked.

Everton striker Beto is the latest name to be linked with the Whites this week. The initial report from Sky Sports claimed that the club were willing to spend in excess of £20million to sign the 27-year old.
Sources at Everton have now revealed the possibility of a deal going through. Speaking to YEP, the reports from Goodison Park believe it is highly unlikely a move occurs. There are too many complications at the club. Beto is set to be the only first team striker next season. Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Everton are trying to sort out contract issues, while Armando Broja will return to Chelsea at the end of his loan.
This means unless there is a significant development, Leeds will have to wait.
The club still needs a new striker
Going into the Premier League with Joel Piroe, Mateo Joseph and Patrick Bamford as your options up top is not promising. Leeds need to dip into the market to find experienced options.
A striker who can find the back of the net will be very important if the club want to survive relegation.
