Everton suffer another huge injury blow ahead of Leeds United opener

Leeds United can say they had good pre-season preparations as they failed to lose one game. The Whites faced Manchester United, AC Milan and Villarreal.

The common theme was that the team was able to keep the opponents at bay, but the attack was a bit toothless when needed. Daniel Farke asked the club to push to add more signings before the opener against Everton.

Leeds have somewhat delivered, as on Wednesday, the club agreed a deal to sign Dominic Calvert-Lewin. The club now have one extra body available for the game on Monday night. After Leeds lost two key players in the attack over the past week, getting in a new face is welcomed.

Everton also received some big news as they confirmed the signing of Jack Grealish on a loan deal from Manchester City.

Everton lose key player before Leeds United clash

Everton are not in the best of shape heading into the Premier League opener, but at least David Moyes will have some relief after Jack Grealish was signed this week. The Toffees boss complained about the lack of signings recently.

But now, the club have suffered another huge injury blow. According to an Everton insider ‘El Bobble’ on X, defender Jarrad Branthwaite has picked up a hamstring injury in training.

With how volatile injuries to that part of the body can be, one can assume he will definitely miss Monday night’s clash. And depending on the severity, it could go on for much longer.

This news is yet to be fully confirmed by the club, so should not be taken as a 100% confirmed.

Leeds injury status

Leeds on the other hand, can report good news ahead of Monday night’s game. Lucas Perri has confirmed that he is now ‘100% fit’ after he was initially a doubt for the game.

Daniel Farke also confirmed that Jayden Bogle would resume training this week, with the expectation that he will be available for the Everton game.
