Everton want to complete Jack Harrison deal on one condition – Leeds United could be open to it

Leeds United have been busy with new signings this summer, recruiting four new players. But sales and exits have been hard to come by.

The only confirmed transfer exit has been the loan deal involving Max Wober and Werder Bremen. The defender was initially expected t leave on a permanent deal, but the club wanted to shift any possible loss on the defender’s sale onto their 2025/26 books. This was explained by Joe Donnohue:

”Understanding is that a loan move benefits Leeds United more from a PSR standpoint. Selling Wöber this summer at a price below ~£5m would see the club report a loss on their 2025/26 accounts, due to player amortisation costs.”

Outside that, the club have actually struggled to offload players they no longer need at the club heading into next season. The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Darko Gyabi, Sam Greenwood, and Illan Meslier are still at the club.

Jack Harrison is no doubt among the players the club would like to sell this summer. Since he fell out with the Elland Road fans, his exit has been expected every summer. But he still managed to go on two consecutive loan deals at Everton.

This week, there were reports that the Toffees would consider bringing him back to the team. David Moyes likes him, and he would be a low-cost option to fill a role, as the club plan to spend more elsewhere.

BBC Sport are reporting that Everton are keen to sign Harrison if he was available on a free transfer.

Will Leeds agree?

Offloading Harrison would definitely be part of the club’s plan, but not for free. Leeds cannot afford to lose him for a zero sum fee in this era of financial regulations and PSR.

It is very unlikely that the Whites agree to this arrangement. Maybe a cut price deal for the forward would be more beneficial.

Possible replacements for Jack Harrison

Since there are new faces at the club over the past few years, Harrison already has his replacements. Largie Ramazani falls under that category. But speaking in terms of the squad, Leeds very much need another attacking option.

After seeing what Manor Solomon did on loan in the last campaign, maybe Daniel Farke will push to add another player of that calibre. A center forward is the current priority of the club, but maybe they might add a winger as well.
