Every Leeds United transfer target to keep an eye on at the Euros

With the Premier League season nicely wrapped up, all eyes are firmly placed on the Euros which kicks off next Friday.

But fans won’t be the only ones watching the tournament with intrigue. Victor Orta and his scouting team will be looking at potential signings for Leeds United this summer.

So, today, we’re looking at every Leeds United target you can keep an eye on at the euros.

Sam Johnstone (England)

Johnstone impressed for relegated West Brom last season making 166 saves – the most in the division – despite the Baggies’ relegation. Many clubs are circling around Johnstone and Leeds are one of them, seeking a backup and competition for Ilian Meslier should Kiko Casilla finally leave the club. However, Johnstone is unlikely to feature in the tournament.

Teun Koopmeiners (Netherlands)

The Netherlands will have high hopes for this tournament, with the likes of Memphis Depay and Frenkie De Jong inspiring a belief that they can win the whole thing. Another player who could be key is Leeds target Teun Koopmeiners, who operates in centre midfield for AZ Alkmaar. The 23-year-old notched 15 goals in the Eredivisie this season and could be the perfect Pablo Hernandez replacement for Leeds this summer.

Ozan Tufan (Turkey)

As far as experience goes, Leeds could do worse than Tufan. The midfielder has earned 59 caps for Turkey and will be a key part of their Euros campaign. Tufan could serve as Kalvin Phillips’ backup – something Leeds desperately need. Something that will also impress Orta and co is the fact he can also operate at right back. He has a substantial attacking return too with 6 goals and 8 assists in the Super Lig this season.
