”Every player wants to be playing” – Daniel Farke has huge decision to make after Leeds star’s latest comments

When Leeds United returned from the last international break, Daniel Farke made some changes to the team. After having failed to score from open play since the start of the season, some things needed to change.

Against Fulham, Farke unleashed a new front three of Calvert-Lewin, Okafor and Aaronson. The Whites lost that game in the dying minutes courtesy of an own goal. But the changes paid off in the next two games.

Leeds beat Wolves by a convincing 3-1 scoreline, and Daniel Farke’s side almost beat Bournemouth at Elland Road. The Cherries sneaked in a late equalizer to steal a point. It is unfortunate for the Whites to be entering this international break off the back of a crushing defeat to Spurs.

Karl Darlow wants Leeds United spot

Daniel Farke was adamant that the game against Tottenham could have gone his side’s way, but the attack could not find the back of the net. Leeds had to make a forced change in goal for the Fulham game as Lucas Perri picked up an injury. Karl Darlow has deputized since then, and has been incredible between the sticks for the club. He earned many plaudits for his performances against Fulham and Wolves.

Now, Darlow has said he is keen on keeping his spot as the club’s number one. He was speaking to the BBC as Wales prepare to face England and Belgium during the international break:

“Every player wants to be playing week in and week out and I’m no different,” he said.

“I’m really pleased to be in a bit of rhythm again.

“I played at the back end of last season in the Championship and felt I had a run of games where I’d done well.

“I’m old enough now to know how careers go and I make sure I’m consistent in my habits, available for every matchday I can be and in the best possible shape.”

Daniel Farke has a huge decision to make

When Leeds return from the international break, Farke will have to choose between Karl Darlow and Lucas Perri. The Brazilian was okay in his first few games for the club, but Darlow has shown that he can start at this level.
