It was a big Friday night at Elland Road as Leeds United managed to garner three points by defeating West Ham United 2-1. However, even bigger challenges are yet to come as the Whites face Brighton and Hove Albion at the American Express Stadium next week.
Swiss international Noah Okafor returned to the pitch after a small injury, which saw him miss the away loss at Burnley. The Whites didn’t do well without their favourite winger as the game ended 2-0 for the Clarets.
Despite making a decent comeback, bad luck struck again as the winger didn’t play post-half-time. Former Leeds United star Stuart Dallas also called out for improvements from the Swiss international.
Nevertheless, player morale was down after two consecutive losses, but Farke’s men fittingly made a comeback. Former English striker Jermain Defoe gave positive reactions but warned against future challenges.

While in talks with the Premier League productions, Defoe granted that the win was a big one for Leeds United after losing two games in a row.
“It’s massive, even looking at the table, they have a bit of breathing space. Of course, they can’t rest on their laurels, and you have to keep going, but this was a massive game.”
“If you can beat the teams in around you – Leeds was always a tough place to go, always really difficult, under the lights. Fantastic performance, everyone to a man, massive win”
Standing at 13th in the English Premier League, the Whites are evidently comfortable with their spot at the moment. However, injuries might affect their form, with both Okafor and Gabriel Gudmundsson’s availability uncertain.
Upcoming fixtures and challenges
Leeds United now have 10 fixtures to go before the new year. The Whites will end the year with a trip to Anfield as they’ll face Liverpool, who just faced their own set of challenges before returning to winning ways.
The Yorkshire-based outfit will now travel to the south of England to play Brighton and Hove Albion in the upcoming weekend for their first fixture of November on the first day of the month.
The Seagulls will face Manchester United today as the Red Devils just came back after a win against Arne Slot’s Liverpool. Fabian Hurzeler’s men, on the other hand, have gone unbeaten for five games.
The South England outfit managed to defeat Chelsea 3-1 and drew against Tottenham Hotspur. Today’s game against Ruben Amorim’s side will very well set the tone as the Seagulls will need to make a trip to Old Trafford.
