Leeds United have seen a massive turnaround in the fortunes of the club over the last nine years. If a fan back then told you where the club would be in 2025, you would not believe them.
A rollercoaster couple of years for the fans have seen some of the best moments any Leeds supporter can imagine. Most of them will tell you that winning promotion in 2020 has been one of the best seasons in recent years, but last year’s campaign comes close. 100 points, 95 goals scored and winning the league on the last day brought a lot of excitement.
The 49ers have been the face of the club for the past couple of seasons. Since they completed their takeover, they have established Leeds as a great football side and a growing brand.

But fans will not forget who helped build that foundation. Under the previous ownership, Angus Kinnear played a big part in steadying the ship to help Leeds United become what they are today.
Kinnear joined the Whites in 2017 and has been a big influence on and off the pitch. Since then, the former Leeds chief has gone on to join Everton, where he is currently the CEO. The 48-year old has been speaking to the Toffees View podcast on joining billionaire owners The Friedkin Group:
“I had a lot of friends at Leeds, I dedicated a lot of my life to them, I had some very happy memories of what we achieved on the pitch last season, it was a great season, we won the title with the last kick of the ball.
“So I was proud to leave them back where I think that club belongs.
“I think they’re a Premier League club, but it was a fantastic opportunity that was presented to me.
“I think the term sleeping giant is used too loosely, but I think when you look at the challenges that Everton have faced and overcome over the last four to five years.
“I thought the opportunity to give them a real solid foundation to build upon was one of the best projects in world football, and I don’t regret that decision at all.”
Leeds United chiefs failed the fans this summer
Everton back David Moyes this past summer with some proper signings, and now the Toffees are looking in good shape. They addressed their attack with big names like Jack Grealish. Unlike over in West Yorkshire, where the Leeds ownership failed to add reinforcement on deadline day.
On the pitch, the Whites look flate as they search for their first away win this season on Saturday.
