Ex-Leeds United star rejected €100m offer in the summer

Former Leeds United winger Raphinha rejected a €100m contract offer from Al-Hilal to stay at Barcelona in the summer transfer window.

Raphinha spent two years in the Premier League with Leeds and scored 17 goals and registered 12 assists in 67 appearances for the Yorkshire giants.

He rejected offers from the Premier League in 2022 and waited for Barcelona to cobble together the funds to sign him from Leeds for a fee of €58m.

The winger was heavily linked with a move away from Barcelona in the last summer transfer window and even had suitors in the Premier League.

However, the Brazilian was clear about staying at Barcelona and even rejected eyewatering financial offers to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer window.

The ex-Leeds United winger turned down €100m offer from Al-Hilal

Al-Hilal pushed hard to convince the Brazilian to move to Saudi Arabia in the summer window but Raphinha remained adamant about staying put at Barcelona.

According to the Catalan Daily Sport, the Saudi outfit were prepared to offer a transfer fee of €100m to Barcelona and placed a massive contract on the table for the winger as well.

Al-Hilal offered him a deal that would have seen Raphinha earn €25m per year on a four-year contract if he had agreed to move to Al-Hilal in the last window.

However, it was not enough to tempt the winger to move on from Barcelona, a club he worked hard to join two years back.

Barcelona are glad that the winger stayed as well as he has started the season in Spain in blistering fashion for the Catalan giants.

Raphinha has scored three times and provided as many assists in the opening four La Liga games of the season for Barcelona.

He is happy to stay at Barcelona and is said to have no regrets about rejecting a once-in-a-lifetime contract from Al-Hilal in the summer.
