Ex-Premier League boss provides honest opinion on Daniel Farke – The Leeds United boss deserves more respect

Daniel Farke is under pressure after Leeds United dropped more precious Championship points this weekend. The 2-2 draw against Swansea at Elland Road has pushed Leeds to second in the table and they are now level on points with Burnley, who are third in the table. Farke is facing real criticism of his management, but the Leeds boss has received support from his fraternity.

Leeds United appeared to be in control of the automatic promotion race a month back. However, a run of two wins in six games has put them in real jeopardy.

Daniel Farke has attracted criticism for continuing with players such as Brenden Aaronson, but he is facing real heat for persisting with Illan Meslier in goal this season.

The Leeds boss has been told that he would be ultimately responsible for playing Meslier, which could end up costing the Whites promotion to the Premier League this season.

“Daniel Farke is no clown, he has done this before” – Former Premier League manager

Leeds fans are on edge as their side stumble in the automatic promotion race, and their anger is spilling over towards the manager at this stage of the season.

A Leeds supporter called in on talkSPORT and demanded that the club sack Farke and bring in someone new to avoid missing out on automatic promotion this season.

Alan Pardew was on air and insisted that Farke deserves more respect as he has the record of getting teams promoted to the top flight.

The former Premier League boss also stressed that the Leeds board will not be making any knee-jerk decision like sacking the German with seven games left in the season.

“He is far from a clown, Daniel Farke, he has been promoted before”, responding to the Leeds fan’s call, Pardew said on talkSPORT.

“I do think that there is no chance that they’ll do anything in terms of changing the manager.”

The Leeds boss deserves more respect

Farke is rightly getting criticised for some of his decisions and the way he has supported a few players to the hilt, which has been detrimental to the team.

However, the Leeds boss still deserves more respect and the talk of him getting sacked is preposterous, given Leeds are still in the automatic promotion spots.

Farke and his players need to focus this week and ensure that they are in the headspace to get three points from their trip to Luton Town this weekend.

The Leeds manager has built a superb team, but none of that would count if the Whites do not get the job done in the remaining seven games of the season.

All the criticism will be forgotten, if Leeds are celebrating promotion to the Premier League at the end of the campaign.
