Leeds United signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin is yet to make his first official appearance for the club since signing. He is regarded by Daniel Farke as a very important piece in the team.
Last season, Leeds had limited options up top. But this summer, some depth has been added to the team, including Lukas Nmecha. Calvert-Lewin is still ramping up his fitness before getting onto the pitch, according to Farke:
“For that, I was a bit tempted on Saturday to let him travel with us but we decided and also together that he needs a few more days on the training pitch.
“But there is a chance right now, more or less from day to day to see him for the first time in the travelling squad for a competitive game.
The former Everton striker is in line to make his debut against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday.

Before signing Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Leeds were one of the clubs showing serious interest in AS Roma striker Artem Dovbyk. Despite multiple clubs chasing the Ukrainian’s signature, he looks like he will stay put in Italy. Fabrizio Romano has shut down rumours of an exit to Spain.
Sunderland and Everton have also been credited with interest in the 28-year old.
🚨⚠️ There’s nothing advanced between Artem Dovbyk and Villarreal at this stage.

Leeds need at least one new signing
Daniel Farke had a point about adding quality in the offence. In their first two Premier League games, the Whites have played well, but lack the cutting edge in front of goal. It was part of the reasons why Everton did not lose by more goals on Monday night.
Regardless of if the club has three strikers in Piroe, Calvert-Lewin and Nmecha, Leeds need to add one more. Preferably a quality one who has an eye for goal.
