Fabrizio Romano provides update on former Chelsea man Leeds United ‘want’ to sign – It’s a move that looks feasible

Leeds United have big plans for the summer transfer window if they get promoted back to the Premier League and they have already done leg work on a few deals they want to execute. The recruitment team are aware that they will have no time to waste once they get promoted and have gone to work early to set up targets and deals they want to chalk off in the summer transfer window. Leeds are almost certain to sign a striker in the summer transfer window and several forwards have been linked with a move to Elland Road. However, Leeds would want to sign someone with Premier League experience and it seems one such player could be on the move.

The Whites are in the middle of a tough promotion race with Sheffield United and Burnley but are still the favourites to return to the Premier League at the end of the season.

Leeds United are acutely aware that they will need an overhaul of the squad in the next transfer window if they are to give themselves a chance of surviving in the top flight of English football.

They are more or less down to one striker this season and Daniel Farke will need more firepower up front next season if Leeds get promoted to the Premier League at the end of the campaign.

The club are looking at several forwards in England, but they are also mindful of looking at options in Europe who have the experience of playing in the Premier League.

One such forward, who has been on their radar ahead of the summer, could be on the move in the next transfer window.

‘It’s a possibility’ – Fabrizio Romano provides update on striker Leeds United want

Abraham has spent the last four seasons playing in Italy after signing for Roma from Chelsea in 2021. He joined AC Milan on loan in the last summer transfer window.

AC Milan have an option to sign him on a permanent deal, but the Serie A giants have not made a decision on whether to keep him at the San Siro.

He has been linked with a return to England where several clubs are interested in getting their hands on him due to his previous record in the Premier League.

Leeds are considering making a move for him in the summer if they get promoted and even Everton and West Ham are believed to be interested in him.

Romano admitted that there is a real possibility of the forward returning to England after spending four seasons in Italy in the next transfer window.

However, he stressed that a lot will depend on what AC Milan want to do before any decision is taken.

“It’s a possibility [Abraham returning to England this summer], but all depends on Milan now”, Romano was quoted as saying by Leeds Live.

“They must decide whether they want to keep him from Roma or let him go back to the club, and it will be up to the new director they’re about to appoint soon.”

Tammy Abraham is a realistic target for Leeds

The Whites are focused on getting promoted to the Premier League before they can think about who they can sign to keep themselves in the top tier.

However, a striker is a priority for the summer transfer if they get promoted and they need someone who has a proven track record in the top flight.

Piroe is inconsistent in the Championship and it seems unlikely that he will improve as a goalscorer in the Premier League if the Whites get promoted.

Abraham proved himself at Chelsea previously and has a decent record in Italy despite the injury troubles he has had in the last four years.

A move for him would make sense for Leeds as they need someone who can crack it in the top flight and score the goals that could help them survive.

The former Chelsea man could prove to be a realistic option as long as he doesn’t demand massive wages and cost a huge transfer fee.
