“Fantastic character” – Praise pours in for Leeds United striker as HUGE contract decision looms

Harry Gray will remain the talk of the town at Leeds United, no matter how much it annoys Daniel Farke, who wants the forward to develop away from the eyes of the fans and the press.

He turned 17 on Wednesday, and the teenage striker’s performances for the Under-21s this season have piled the pressure on Farke to hand him his Premier League debut as soon as possible.

The Leeds manager remains adamant that the striker should train with the first team and play for the Under-21s for the time being to ensure that his confidence doesn’t get exposed at the top level too early.

Leeds have also been trying to ensure that he signs his first professional contract with the club soon, and with him turning 17, an announcement was expected sometime this week.

The Leeds United striker is continuing to earn glowing praise

The 17-year-old striker has been scoring for fun in the Under-21s, and his family lineage means he was also expected to take on that extra burden at Leeds.

Harry has developed at a rapid pace, just like his older brother Archie Gray, who joined Tottenham from Leeds last year, and is still only 19.

It is a testament to the young striker’s willingness to be a top player that he gets outside help as well, apart from the coaching he receives at Leeds.

Elite performance coach Simon Darcy Clifford has been associated with Harry for a decade and works on improving his individual game, including training him during the summer break.

He is a huge fan of the young forward and wrote on X on Wednesday: “Good to see Harry Gray on his 17th birthday!!

“Ten years working with him so far, and so happy to see the absolutely fantastic character he’s grown into. God bless, KMF H, and Happy Birthday mate.”

Leeds need to finalise the new contract soon

Tottenham are among the Premier League clubs who have their eyes on Harry and want to reunite him with his brother Archie in North London.

The Gray family are said to be happy with the teenager’s development at Leeds, and the club have already worked out an agreement over a new deal.

However, he is yet to sign on the dotted lines, and Leeds need to complete the formalities as soon as possible to avoid any late hijacks.

Harry is too good a young player, and Leeds must do everything to ensure that he remains their player for the foreseeable future.
