“I’m sticking with Feyenoord” – Dutch coach rules himself out of Leeds managerial race

Feyenoord head coach Arne Slot says it would be a shame to leave the project he is currently building at the club amidst Leeds job speculation.

The Dutchman has been the bookmakers favourite to replace Marsch at Elland Road. Hoewever, he is adamant that he will remain at the club till the end of the season. Feyenoord are currently top of the Eredivisie, and are competing in all domestic cup competitions.

“I believe the clubs have been in touch, but the thing is I’m sticking with Feyenoord. I can say that with this one, that is clear,” Slot told journalists. “The club has been clear. It was a compliment that a club like Leeds was interested, but we are doing something great with Feyenoord. We are in a great position in the league, the cup and Europe,”

“There is no disappointment. It’s certainly not a punishment to stay here [at Feyenoord].”

Caretaker boss Michael Skubala will be in charge again ahead of Sunday’s game against Manchester United.
