Five Players Leeds United are favourites to sign

Leeds United’s first season back in the Premier League was a great success, with the current players proving that they can more than hold their own in the big time.

But with the transfer window now upon us, Marcelo Bielsa will be looking at ways they can strengthen the squad in order to progress even further.

Today, we’re looking at five players Leeds United are favourites to sign.

Ainsley Maitland-Niles – 5/1 (SkyBet)

Having spent last season on loan at West Brom and suffering relegation as a result, it makes you wonder what the next step is for Maitland-Niles. He turns 24 this summer and it’s becoming unlikely that he’ll be part of Mikel Arteta’s plans going forward. His versatility should interest Leeds, as he’s able to play in the centre of the pitch but has also spent large portions of his career at right back.

Matheus Cunha – 5/1 (SkyBet)

The latest player Leeds have been linked with is Hertha Berlin forward Matheus Cunha. Cunha is an incredibly gifted footballer on a technical level, with the ability to pull off a goal of the season contender seemingly from nowhere. The former Leipzig player has impressed this season for Hertha Berlin and was directly involved in 11 goals. The 22-year-old has his whole career ahead of him, and would undoubtedly excel under Marcelo Bielsa.

Conor Gallagher – 6/1 (SkyBet)

Another West Brom midfielder, Gallagher should excite Leeds fans. Aside from Pereira, Gallagher has been one of West Brom’s most impressive players this season and is only going to improve at just 21 years old. With his loan deal at West Brom expiring and a return to Chelsea imminent, another loan or possibly a permanent departure could well be on the cards, and a move to Elland Road would be beneficial for both parties.

Ryan Kent – 4/1 (SkyBet)

Leeds made an unsuccessful move for Kent last summer, opting to purchase Raphinha to strengthen their wing instead. Leeds are strong on the flanks, Raphinha and Jack Harrison both had fantastic seasons after all, but competition is never a bad thing, and they could do much worse than Kent. Kent was a key part of Rangers’ title winning side notching 10 goals and 9 assists in 39 games. His pace is a key part of his game, which would put him in good stead with Leeds should he join.

Romain Perraud

Leeds have been linked with Perraud for a while now, with it being rumoured that they were considering a move in January. The Brest left-back narrowly avoided relegation from Ligue 1 but Leeds have every reason to be interested. The Frenchman has been directly involved in 10 goals this season, with his attacking intent lining up with the free-flowing football Leeds like to play.
