In the summer, Leeds united boss Daniel Farke decided to open the door for some players to leave the club. Some took the chance and left, while others had to be forced out.
Patrick Bamford was one of the unfortunate ones; he was informed that he was no longer in the team’s plans. And when a solution could not be found, he decided to part ways with the club and his contract was terminated.
Other players left the team, but most of them could only find temporary deals. Leeds were desperate to offload some of these players due to PSR.
Max Wober could return to Leeds United
Leeds managed to ship out Joe Gelhardt, Largie Ramazani, Mateo Joseph, Isaac Schmidt and Max Wober. Almost all of these players left for playing time.
Wober revealed to Austrian media that the Whites had told him to find a club in the summer. So the defender joined Werder Bremen on loan in the transfer window.
He could not have wished a worse start to his season as he picked up an injury in his first game. That sidelined him for months and he is yet to make a competitive appearance since August.
Wober played in a friendly match over the winter break and lasted 45 minutes, however he is now reportedly injured once again.
BILD in Germany are now reporting that the Bundesliga side are unlikely to sign the Leeds man on a permanent deal. He has played over 70 minutes this whole season out on loan and it does not look like he is returning anytime soon.

49ers will be furious at failed deal
Max Wober is a player the club would ideally like to get rid of due to his wages, but with the latest development, it is very unlikely anything comes out of this loan deal.
Werder will not sign an injury prone player, and what makes it worse for Leeds is that other clubs will also be reluctant to take any chance on the Austrian international this summer.
His contract expires in 2027, which means the last opportunity for the Whites to offload him is in the coming months. The club’s ownership will be furious that nothing came out of the loan deal this summer.
