Many Leeds United fans look back on the summer window with mixed reactions; some were happy with the signings, and others disputed the club’s decisions. But overall, it looks like the recruitment team knew what they were doing.
10 new players came in during the summer, and overall, they have improved the outlook of the squad. This is no longer the team that made it from the Championship by winning 100 points. The Premier League is another level, and by the look of things, the Whites did their business around some quality players.
Fans will complain about the likes of Sebastiaan Bornauw and James Justin being wasted transfer fees, but there have been good additions from the summer window.
Former Brentford star Ben Mee thinks Leeds United have a gem in midfield
One of them is Anton Stach; the midfielder was brought in by the club to bring some steel in the middle of the park. Even though he came in as a defensive midfielder, Daniel Farke has carved out an advanced role for the German.
Former Brenford defender Ben Mee was impressed with how the Leeds United man played against his old side on Sunday:
“Yeah, you look at some of the new signings in that midfield there that played today, you look at Ethan Ampadu in there,” Mee said on Sky Sports.
“But Anton Stach is a really good player. He is strong, powerful, and he likes to get forward.
“He took his goal against Liverpool last week really well too. He looks like a really good player to me.
“I think Leeds look solid. They are three games unbeaten now, and they are getting momentum a little bit.
“They have hit a bit of form, if not in terms of performance, then certainly results, which is always important.”
Stach has been revitalised following slump
A few weeks ago, the midfielder picked up a few injuries, which slowed down his performances in the team. It even got to a point where he was briefly benched by Farke. But since then, he looks like a completely different player.

The midfielder’s performances have even led to some people calling for Stach to make a return to the German national team. He has been the driving force in Leeds’ midfield so far, and has been an outstanding summer signing – money well spent by the club.
