Former Chelsea man baffled over ‘odd’ decision that could affect Leeds United clash

Leeds United find themselves in a position where they might need to win to get themselves back on track. Losing to Fulham after the international break has caused a lot of tension around the club.

After the defeat a lot has been said by players, fans and Daniel Farke himself. The Whites will be hoping they can bounce back with a good result on the road when they face Wolves this weekend. Farke already knows the size of the task Leeds will be up against at the Molineux:

”We know as a newly-promoted side, away game, we are always the underdog.

”Established Premier League side, not the most effective start in terms of points but early doors.

”They will be highly motivated against a newly-promoted side to win this game.

”We know we have to be at our best, show defensive steel and reward ourselves with a goal. We stay humble but we don’t travel with fear.”

The Whites have just one win in four games ahead of the clash with Vitor Pereira’s side.

Some Leeds fans will see the game at Wolves as a much easier task than against Fulham. Pereira’s side are the only team in the Premier League that have failed to win a point this season. Former Chelsea man Chris Sutton has acknowledged this, and said he finds the news of a contract renewal for Vitor Pereira ”really odd”:

“When I lost at predictions a few weeks running last season, I didn’t get a call from the BBC offering me a new deal.

“Yet that is what seems to be happening with Wolves boss Vitor Pereira, which is really odd.

“Wolves are without the injured Jorgen Strand Larsen up front, which is a blow, but I am still backing them to win this one – maybe a new contract for Pereira will mean a new dawn for his team?”

Sutton also predicted a narrow win for Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.

Leeds United have a big opportunity this weekend

The game against Wolves will truly be a test of character for Leeds – this season they have had a lot of games when they were on the verge of a result. But for one reason or another they let it slip from their grasp.

Gabriel Gudmunsson’s own goal decided the game against Fulham, which the Whites should have taken a point from. Hopefully the Wolves clash on Saturday will yield a better result.
