Leeds United were gutted last weekend when they failed to get a result against Fulham. The point was snatched away from them in the last minutes of the game after Gabriel Gudmundsson scored an unfortunate own goal.

Daniel Farke’s side had a good chance of winning the game in the first half hour. Dominic Calvert-Lewin missed a big chance and Leeds struck the crossbar before the half ended.

It was the second half that decided the game; with the Whites holding on for the point, Marco Silva looked to his bench. Fulham used the momentum late in the game and their pressure eventually paid off.

Former England keeper David James thinks Karl Darlow was one of the better performers in the loss to Fulham. He was impressed with how the Welsh international stepped in and delivered under pressure.

“I think the pressure is, as it is for all the teams going up, is to try and get some points in the bag early doors.” he said to the Yorkshire Post.

“It looks like teams, Leeds included, are trying to stay in the game and hopefully nick something at the end like they did against Everton.

“I think that puts more pressure on the goalkeepers. It was very unfortunate Karl Darlow didn’t get a clean sheet against Fulham.

“I feel for Gudmundsson because even in the analysis, there was a question mark over what he was doing. Everything happened so quick for him.

“Karl Darlow played extremely well. That kind of performance, most times, will give you enough to get at least a point and if the guys at the other end can get you some goals, win some games of football.”

Karl Darlow confirmed to start against Wolves this weekend

Leeds boss Daniel Farke confirmed that Darlow will continue to start in the absence of Lucas Perri. The club’s record signing has been out with an injury issue that saw him miss the Fulham game. Farke has already spoken about how much he trusts the Welshman, with Perri out of the lineup.

Karl Darlow will have to put in another spectacular performance if Leeds are to get a result at the Molineux.
