Leeds United are set to be very active in the summer transfer window. Daniel Farke and the recruitment team will have their hands full with the squad.
Fans will hope this summer’s window is much better than last year’s. Before the season began, the club lost three of its best players. Archie Gray, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio all left Elland Road. After weeks of inactivity, it took a push from Farke to get in a flurry of new faces to start the season.
Despite that, Leeds won the Championship and gained Promotion to the Premier League. The Whites have now been linked with many names as they look to boost their squad to compete at the top level.

It has been widely reported that Joel Piroe could have competition heading into next season. Sources inside the club claim that Leeds will not depend on him alone. In recent weeks, the club have been linked with a move for Jamie Vardy. However, ex-Leeds man Paul Robinson has concerns over a transfer for the 38-year old:
“I think Vardy can still do it in the Premier League. But is he the answer for Leeds? I’m not so sure looking at his age and where he is now. Joel Piroe has carried the can for scoring the goals this season.” he said to Football Insider.
“Patrick Bamford has a year left on his deal and is looking like he’s going to move on because they can’t rely on him to be fit and score goals in the Premier League.
Robinson also makes a sensational claim that Vardy will most likely be on the bench next season if he does sign.
“Jamie Vardy is a proven striker, but if you sign him you need to get another as well because you don’t know how many games he’s going to be able to play.
“If he’s fit, he would be an impact off the bench, but I’m sure he’s going to want to go somewhere where he plays every week now. He’s not going to want to join Leeds and be an impact player.”
Is Robinson right about Jamie Vardy?
Vardy turned 38 years old in January. This season, he featured in 34 league games scoring eight goals. At his age, not many have played consistently in the Premier League. But the numbers do not lie, and eight league goals is an impressive mark.
Jamie Vardy will be 39 by the middle of next season, the only 39-year olds active in the league are Ashley Young, and Lukasz Fabianski. Both are frequently used off the bench. If Leeds are to move for the striker this summer, they have a huge call to make.
